The American School Foundation of Chiapas (ASFC) is seeking a passionate and experienced International Mandarin Chinese Language Teacher to join our multicultural learning community.

Position Overview

The American School Foundation of Chiapas (ASFC) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mandarin Chinese Teacher to join our international learning community. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop proficiency in Mandarin while fostering intercultural understanding, global awareness, and a lifelong appreciation for language learning.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging Mandarin Chinese lessons for students.

- Develop students’ skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Mandarin.

- Create an inclusive, student-centered classroom environment that encourages active participation and language acquisition.

- Integrate Chinese culture, traditions, and global perspectives into instruction.

- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to students and families.

- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

- Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and school-wide initiatives.

- Participate actively in school events, professional development opportunities, and community activities.

- Promote the values of Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Empathy, Collaboration, and Global Citizenship.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese Language, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.

- Teaching certification or qualification in language education preferred.

- Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.

- Strong English communication skills.

- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international or bilingual school setting.

- Experience teaching children and adolescents in multicultural environments.

- Knowledge of inquiry-based learning and international education practices is highly desirable.

- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
